The Treasure of the Susquehanna
“The Treasure of the Susquehanna” was developed by Millersville University student Gabrielle Redcay, with guidance from her professor Justin Mando, as part of the RiverStewards initiatives, Susquehanna Stories. The film discusses the importance of the river and what actions citizens can take to help protect it. Featured in the film are Josh Hill of Shenk’s Mare Outfitters, Hope Byers of Susquehanna Heritage, and Ruth Hocker of Lancaster City.
Gabrielle Redcay earned her digital journalism degree at Millersville University, and she currently resides in her hometown of Quarryville, Pennsylvania. Gabrielle enjoys exploring God’s creation by foot, bike or kayak and celebrating it through videos, food and music. Her appreciation for the Susquehanna was sparked during hikes with family and friends, and Dr. Mando’s environmental advocacy class introduced her to the beauty of and threats to the river.
